UMAAR IBIN

MALEK EL-SAYF

“THE SWORD”

Formerly the Rank of Captain in the Animosus Knights. Last Knight of the Old World order. Keeper of the Lost Chivalrous Arts.

Umaar Ibin Malek El-Sayf—known simply as El-Sayf, “The Sword”—was once a captain among the Animosus Knights. He never sought to lead the Order. Leadership was forced upon him for the simplest and most terrible of reasons:

There was no one else left.

El-Sayf was the lone survivor of the Apocalypse of 1525.

After helping stop the catastrophe that threatened to consume the world, El-Sayf found himself facing certain death. With nothing left to lose, he made one final, desperate gamble to escape his fate.

It worked.

But not as he intended.

El-Sayf was hurled five hundred years into the future, awakening in the modern world—a civilization completely foreign to him. Everyone he had ever known was gone. His family, his friends, his fellow knights, and the world he had sworn to defend had all passed into history.

Yet El-Sayf had brought something with him.

Knowledge.

Within the mind of one surviving knight remained the complete knowledge of the Lost Chivalrous Arts—disciplines and abilities the modern world had forgotten centuries ago.

And El-Sayf quickly discovered that this new age desperately needed them.

Evil had not disappeared. Horrific creatures still stalked the world, ancient threats were awakening, and civilization itself seemed to be edging toward collapse. El-Sayf came to a simple conclusion:

If the Animosus Knights were gone, he would build them again.

He began seeking worthy people to recruit, train, and initiate into a new generation of Animosus Knights, passing on everything he knew before that knowledge could disappear forever.

But beneath the armor is a man carrying five centuries of grief.

There are days when El-Sayf struggles simply to continue. Everyone he loved is not merely dead—they have been dead for hundreds of years. There is nowhere for him to return to and no possibility of recovering the life he lost.

When that grief threatens to overwhelm him, El-Sayf falls back upon the one thing that survived the Apocalypse with him:

His oath.

He swore to protect the people.

The century does not matter.
The kingdom does not matter.
His pain does not matter.

The people still need protecting.

And so, five hundred years after the old Animosus Knights fell, The Sword has drawn his blade again.

EL-SAYF

Easure

Rafflesia Edgedare

El Pugnator

“The Fighter”

Easure Rafflesia Edgedare El Pugnator is one of the original four members of the newly reconstituted Fenneris Lance and one of the first of a new generation to take the oath of the Animosus Knights.

A gifted warrior with exceptional skill in swordsmanship, Easure has never been content to master only the physical side of the Chivalrous Arts. She continually pushes herself toward the deeper and more mysterious disciplines of the Arts, seeking to understand powers that few others can fully grasp.

Her strength today stands in sharp contrast to the young woman she once was.

Easure lost both of her parents at a very young age, and the weight of that tragedy followed her for years. She grew up carrying a sadness she could never completely escape, feeling as though something essential was missing from her life. Beneath that grief, however, remained a quiet belief that another path had to exist—some greater purpose waiting beyond the life she already knew.

In one of the strangest twists of fate surrounding the rebirth of the Animosus Knights, that purpose found her.

When El-Sayf first arrived in the modern world, he desperately attempted to establish psychic contact with thousands of people. Of all those minds he reached toward, Easure was the only person who heard him.

That single moment changed both of their lives.

She answered the call, began her training, and eventually swore the oath of knighthood. The uncertain young woman she had once been began to disappear. In her place emerged someone intensely focused, disciplined, and driven by purpose. Easure does not dwell on the road behind her. Once she chooses a direction, she moves forward with everything she has.

With flowing crimson hair, violet-and-gold armor, and a massive blade that has become nearly as recognizable as the woman wielding it, Easure possesses an almost royal presence on the battlefield. Yet her greatest strength is not appearance, armor, or even swordsmanship—it is the absolute certainty with which she now lives her life.

She has also formed a powerful mental bond with her mount, a magnificent blue horse named Ocean. Their connection extends beyond that of rider and animal. In battle they move with shared instinct, thought, and purpose, functioning almost as a single warrior.

Easure has embraced the beliefs of the Animosus Knights completely. To her, knighthood is not merely a title. It is the answer to the question she spent much of her early life searching for.

She has found her path.

She has found her purpose.

And she has no intention of ever looking back.

WHEN EVIL RISES, WE DESTROY!

Hyark

Argent Edgedare

El Spenstig

“The Resilient”

At only sixteen years old, Hyark Argent Edgedare El Spenstig is among the youngest of the newly reborn Animosus Knights—and quite possibly one of the most fiercely devoted.

Before knighthood ever entered his life, Hyark had only one great ambition: to become a jockey.

He trained constantly alongside his closest companion, a magnificent pure-white horse given to him by his late parents. Hyark named the horse Avalanche, and the two became nearly inseparable. Long before either of them knew anything about the Chivalrous Arts, a bond was already forming between boy and horse that would eventually become something extraordinary.

When Hyark first heard rumors that an actual Animosus Knight had returned, he was skeptical. Extremely skeptical.

Going out of his way to investigate some impossible story about an ancient warrior was not exactly high on his list of priorities.

Then he met El-Sayf.

After hearing only a small part of the truth about the Animosus Knights and the lost Chivalrous Arts, Hyark needed approximately half a second to make up his mind.

This was what he had been searching for.

Not glory.
Not fame.
Not even adventure.

Purpose.

For most of his young life, Hyark had known what it meant to struggle. Raised primarily by his grandmother—his beloved Sitto—in near poverty, he grew up understanding that safety, comfort, and opportunity were never guaranteed. Those experiences created within him a powerful instinct to protect others.

Once Hyark understood what the Animosus Knights truly represented, he came to believe that perhaps this was exactly why he had been placed in the world:

To care about others. To stand between innocent people and danger. And to make certain that those who could not defend themselves would never have to stand alone.

His connection with Avalanche soon developed into the powerful mental link shared between an Animosus Knight and mount. What had once been the friendship between a young rider and his horse became something far greater. Thought, instinct, emotion, and movement began to merge.

Together, Hyark and Avalanche are an extraordinarily dangerous combat team.

Fast, fearless, and increasingly synchronized, they attack with the momentum of a charging avalanche—an appropriate name in more ways than Hyark ever imagined when he first chose it.

Physically, Hyark still looks very much like the young man he is: lean, energetic, blue-haired, and rarely interested in looking as polished as El-Sayf would prefer. Put a sword in his hand, however, and the difference is immediate. The casual teenager disappears, replaced by a focused young warrior whose discipline in battle is far beyond his years.

And that distinction is important.

Outside combat?

Hyark remains… a work in progress.

His loyalty to the Animosus Knights is absolute, perhaps rivaling even some of the legendary knights of ancient times. His manners, on the other hand, do not.

El-Sayf has repeatedly instructed him to watch his language, conduct himself with greater dignity, and remember that an Animosus Knight represents something larger than himself.

Hyark genuinely tries.

The results have been considerably less impressive than his swordsmanship.

But when battle begins, there is nothing careless about him.

Hyark becomes disciplined, observant, and relentless. His technique improves almost daily, and setbacks rarely discourage him for long. He studies his mistakes, trains harder, gets back on Avalanche—and tries again.

That refusal to stay down is precisely why he carries the name:

El Spenstig — The Resilient.

Hyark knows he has a tremendous distance left to travel. He knows he is young. He knows he has much to learn.

None of that bothers him.

Because Hyark Argent Edgedare has already decided where his road ends.

One day, he intends to master the Chivalrous Arts.

And until that day comes, he will keep riding, keep fighting, keep learning—and keep placing himself between the innocent and anything foolish enough to threaten them.

Surus

Caramel Surus El Ululatus

“The Howler”

Caramel Surus El Ululatus is the fourth and final member of the Fenneris Lance—and without question its most unusual.

Unlike the others, Surus was never meant to fit neatly within the traditions of the Animosus Knights. In fact, under ordinary circumstances, he likely never would have been admitted at all. The ancient order was built for humans and their noble horse companions, not for a mysterious beast unlike anything the world had ever seen.

But these were not ordinary times.

The order had been shattered, the old ways nearly lost, and the future demanded exceptions.

Recognizing both the gravity of the moment and the greatness within Surus, El-Sayf called for an audience with the legendary High Council.

Unfortunately, the High Council no longer existed.

So El-Sayf did what only a true leader could do—he spoke as advocate, judge, and council all at once. After what may have been the shortest formal debate in the history of the order, the council reached a unanimous decision.

Surus would be granted full knighthood.

With that decision, Caramel Surus became the first and only non-human, non-horse member ever welcomed into the Animosus Knights.

And from the moment he was accepted, he proved he belonged.

Surus first entered the lives of our heroes roughly six months before El-Sayf’s arrival. One morning, Hyark and Easure discovered him in the horse barn, abandoned but calm, accompanied by a strange note and wrapped in mystery.

They decided to keep him.

It quickly became obvious that this was no ordinary animal.

Calling Surus “a strange-looking dog” would be a dramatic understatement.

Even now, his true nature remains unknown.

No one has been able to determine exactly what Surus is—not Hyark, not Easure, and not even El-Sayf himself. Whatever his origins may be, Surus has displayed powers and instincts entirely his own, abilities that seem to exist outside every known rule.

Rather than fear that mystery, Surus embraced it.

He trains daily, sharpening his natural gifts while learning to channel them through the Chivalrous Arts.

And of all Surus’s abilities, none is more extraordinary than his howl.

It is difficult to describe because there is nothing else quite like it. When Surus unleashes his full voice, the effect seems to reach far beyond sound itself.

The clouds swirl.
The waters repel.
The earth shakes.

It is something almost completely outside the known world—an ability so strange and powerful that even El-Sayf cannot fully explain what is happening or where such power comes from.

For once, however, El-Sayf is perfectly content not to have all the answers.

Whatever force answers Surus’s howl, he is simply extremely grateful that it stands on the side of the Animosus Knights.

And when that howl begins to rise across the battlefield, everyone nearby quickly understands one thing:

Surus has been unleashed.

Whatever Surus may truly be, one truth has never been in doubt.

He is loyal.
He is brave.
And he is absolutely devoted to the path of knighthood.

To El-Sayf, that is what matters most.

Surus carries himself with a presence that is impossible to ignore. Wrapped in soft, luxurious caramel-orange fur, clad in gleaming armor, and marked by enormous blue eyes that seem both intelligent and otherworldly, he is as visually striking as he is unforgettable.

There is warmth in his face, affection in his nature, and a softness to him that makes it easy to underestimate him.

That is a mistake.

Because beneath that lovable exterior stands a true warrior.

Surus may be gentle with those he loves, but when danger rises, the softness disappears and something formidable takes its place. He fights with courage, heart, and a fierce determination that has earned the respect of everyone around him.

Whether standing beside his fellow knights or charging into danger at their side, Surus has made one thing unmistakably clear:

He is not a mascot.
He is not a curiosity.
And he is certainly not just a pet.

He is a knight.

A mystery wrapped in fur and steel.
A loyal heart with a warrior’s spirit.
A living exception to every rule the old world thought it understood.

And as El Ululatus — The Howler, Caramel Surus continues to carve out a legend entirely his own.
